Book Layout and Organization
The presentation of From the Top Down is accomplished in five parts:
Part One begins with a discussion of the meaning of the word tonality. This is followed by an introduction to the terms specific to transtonality.
Part Two introduces the harmonic concept of the transtonal directory and explains how the directory is organized.
Part Three is the transtonal directory. This part provides one hundred eighty transtonal tables which focus on the trilogue formations and voicings which are distinctive to our theories.
Part Four demonstrates how a trans tonal composition may be written in six phases of completion.
Part Five concludes the book by providing twenty six examples of transtonal harmonic pathways of composition.
*A CD which includes a piano rendition of the twenty six pieces shown in part five is also part of From the Top Down.
